The University of Biskra organized, starting on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, through the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Commercial and Management Sciences and its “Finance,Banking and Management” laboratory in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Cell, the National Forum marked with:
"Quality in higher education institutions in Algeria: Algerian universities in light of the knowledge economy and quality assurance"
Where the forum witnessed a distinguished attendance by the university family in its various parts, headed by the university’s director, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Boutarfaia, in addition to the vice-presidents, faculty deans, in addition to professors and researchers from the university and various universities in the country.
This scientific event aims to set a plan and a program of action to apply international standards to achieve quality in Algerian university institutions and improve their ranking in the rankings of the international classification of universities in addition to disseminating a culture of quality in national higher education institutions as well as providing an opportunity for researchers to exchange knowledge and the possibility of conducting joint research to apply quality assurance standards At the Algerian University and other objectives underlined during this event through four axes divided into many sessions over two days, including what was devoted to knowledge economy and quality assurance in higher education institutions, classification and accreditation standards Scientific and academic community and the importance of service quality assurance.
The forum was based on its idea from the university administration’s endeavor to upgrade, develop and continuously improve to ensure the quality of academic outputs and scientific research, given that the quality of the performance of such an important sector determines the features of the future and Algeria’s position in the scientific world map, as indicated by the chairperson of the forum, Dr. Wahiba Gharbi, during her opening speech hopefully. In organizing another edition with an international dimension in the future.
She also pointed to the number of interventions received by the scientific committee by researchers wishing to enrich the subject more than 21 national universities, which amounted to 140 papers, 59 entries were accepted, 10 of which are intended for PhD students. The director of the laboratory, Prof. Dr. Abdallah Ghalem, during the opening session touched on the idea of the forum, which calls for the need to involve and activate scientific research teams, which came in line with the program of the Quality Assurance Cell.
The speech of the Quality Assurance Cell official at the Higher Education Institution, Dr. Bahri Mubarak, was based on specific points in which he called for the necessity of understanding the principle of quality assurance because it is very important as it is a high level in transactions, as he pointed to the process of measuring performance that depends on reference and evaluation after identifying the mechanisms for that. The dean of the college, Dr. Hanan Joudy, talked about the problem of the forum, which considered this edition a first step that starts from a national copy to an international version, and this has confirmed that all disciplines are concerned with the issue of quality to hit another date in future editions more in depth with regard to this important topic and called in the last to The necessity of reaching practical and theoretical recommendations, because such initiatives are the biggest supporter of quality assurance in the university institution.
The President of the University, during his announcement of the official opening of the works of this forum, noted the effective role that the Quality Assurance Cell plays in the management process, pointing to the outcome provided by the latter at the end of each year to diagnose these deficiencies in order to improve them. In this endeavor to achieve the desired goals, as he pointed out in his speech to the important possibilities that the university possesses from frameworks and frameworks, calling to circumvent the advancement of this institution. For reference, the activities and works of this forum were launched in the great lecture hall of the martyr Omar Assassi, to continue its course in the discussion hall of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Commercial and Management Sciences.
