The objectives The objectives in this project can be summarised in the following points : Bibliographic synthesis on the characteristics of soil of sebkha and strengthening of embankments on compressible soils; Understand and identify the peculiarities of soil behavior of sebkha of Chott El Hodna ; Numerical simulation using the PLAXIS software the effect of strengthening the embankment and the evolution of subsidence; Choice of ground behavior model Support for predicting subsidence; Monitoring the evolution of consolidation subsidence by topographic survey of 11 Km of Road  crossing Chott El Hodna as well as behavior of drainage structures ; Define a methodology for study and construction of road embankment reinforced with geosynthetics crossing difficult areas particularly sebkhas of chotts; Development a recommendation document the use of contractors and laboratory engineers; Training engineers of the present partner on the embankment reinforcement technique crossing the areas of sebkha; Supervision of a PhD topic on the present project;      Participation in international conferences and publishing in international journals
